Coandă effect

Posted in ET, Strange but true, UFO on January 31, 2008 by philipvonk
The Coandă effect (IPA: ['kwandə]), also known as “boundary layer attachment”, is the tendency of a stream of fluid to stay attached to a convex surface, rather than follow a straight line in its original direction. The principle was named after Romanian discoverer Henri Coandă, who was the first to understand the practical importance of the phenomenon for aircraft development.

The Etheric Body

Posted in Strange but true on January 31, 2008 by rsidman

Science has come a long way in the twentieth century, but one can’t help but admire how our Eastern counteparts have always been way ahead of us in some respect, in terms of explaining how illness manifests in the etheric body, before appearing in the physical counterpart. Eastern Philosophy has always spoken about the chakra system, which refers to seven main points in the body. Chakras are usually depicted as spinning vortices of coloured energies, which correspond to the physical organs in the body. Many psychic and spiritually evolved people, can usually see these quite clearly.

Disappearing Martian Canals

This image comes from the 4th edition of Meyers Konversationslexikon (1885-90). The copyrights have expired and this image is in the public domain

Back in 1877 the canal system on Mars was observed by  the Italian astronomer (mentioned by H G Wells in War of the Worlds) Giovanni Schiaparelli, these observations were later confirmed by others and the Irish astronomer Charles E. Burton made drawings of the canal system.

If they could see them with the instruments available over 100 years ago why can’t they see them now, another conspiracy

Nazi Flying Saucer

Posted in UFO on January 28, 2008 by philipvonk

The first information about Nazi flying saucers was a series of articles by Italian turbine expert Giuseppe Belluzzo and the German scientist Rudolph Schriever who claimed to have developed flying saucers during the Nazi period.

Sir Roy Fedden (an Aeronautical engineer ) has stated that the only craft that could approach the capabilities attributed to flying saucers were those being designed by the Germans towards the end of the war.  Sir Roy Feddon , Chief of the Technical Mission to Germany for the Ministry of Aircraft Production, stated in 1945:

“I have seen enough of their designs and production plans to realise that if they (the Germans) had managed to prolong the war some months longer, we would have been confronted with a set of entirely new and deadly developments in air warfare.

NAZI UFO

Released into the public domain (by the author Alebo).

“When WWII ended, the Germans had several radical types of aircraft and guided missiles under development. The majority were in the most preliminary stages, but they were the only known craft that could even approach the performance of objects reported to UFO observers.”

Black hole

Diagramme of a black hole.

A black hole is a region of space in which the gravitational field is so powerful that nothing can escape after having fallen past the event horizon.

Most accretion disks and gas jets are not clear proof that a stellar-mass black hole is present, because other massive, ultra-dense objects such as neutron stars and white dwarfs cause accretion disks and gas jets to form and to behave in the same ways as those around black holes. But they can often help by telling astronomers where it might be worth looking for a black hole.

The banjo ukulele was the intrument played by Good old George. But surprisingly it has also been used by musicians such as Brian May (Queen) and Gerge Harrison (Beatles)
